draudziama veztis serfingo iranga lektuvais!!!!!

UNREAD_POST Tata 19 Lap 2007 23:13

lektuvu keliauti pasaulyje darosi nefain, raso vaikinai is anglijos.
Tipo BA uzdraude oficialiai visus windsurfingo irenginius inesti i lektuva, o canadian airlines ir kitesurfingo lentas (apie tai raso kitas bichas)

dar pastebi kad kai vienas durnius sugalvoja, kiti greit seka is paskos.

trecias pastebi kad snowboardai yra tarp tu dvieju, bet niekas nekalba apie draudima.

zemiau textai. Ka manot?

LONDON (Reuters) - The British Surfing Association hopes to persuade British Airways to reverse a ban on taking surfboards on its flights. Delegates from the group are poised to hand in a petition of 8,000 signatures to the carrier's London headquarters on Tuesday -- the day the ban is due to come into force.

BRITISH AIRWAYS TO BAN WINDSURFING KIT

BA has made an announcement on its website that from 6 November 2007 they will no longer carry certain items of sporting equipment - including windsurfers.

Here's what they say:

Sporting equipment we do not carry (effective from 6 November 2007)

Due to the large size and handling complexities, some sporting equipment cannot be accommodated through the airport baggage system or within the aircraft hold. Therefore we no longer accept the following equipment at check-in as part of your sporting equipment allowance.

Due to the large size and handling complexities, some sporting equipment cannot be accommodated through the airport baggage system or within the aircraft hold. Therefore we no longer accept the following equipment at check-in as part of your sporting equipment allowance.

* hang gliders
* windsurfing boards and sails
* surfboards
* kayaks or canoes
* pole vaults
* javelins

Please contact your local freight company to arrange carriage for any items that exceed the permitted weight and size.

This is serious stuff, as if other airlines follow suit we could be in for trouble.

So, what can we do? Well, the first thing to do is make our voices heard and let BA know what we think by dropping them a line.

To make life easy there's a ready made complaint letter that the Student Windsurfing Association have thoughtfully posted on their website, so click on the link and start firing those letters off:

Na super. Tiesiog nėra žodžių. Kaitus dar kaip nors paslėpsite, o va burių tai niekaip į kuprinę nesusivyniosime. Bet tada numirs visokios tarptautinės varžybos - inventoriaus juk kalnus reikia nusivežti, o surferiai keliaus tik automobiliais. Nuomos gal atsigaus, bet sportui tai - stipriai į nenaudą.

Galit pasirasyti peticija, radau is kito forumo:

"Hey guys!

Since Nov. 6, British Airways has decided to simply ban the carriage of surfboards on all their flights!!!

We need to fight this decision right away or more airlines may follow their lead and it will get harder and more expensive for surfers to travel by air.

There's already a petition campaign running on the internet. I encourage you to sign it and spread the word among all your surfing mates and people you usually travel with.
You just need to go to the page below and fill up the form:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/sto ... /sign.html

To help spread the word and support the petition, don't hesitate to post this message on other surf forums or ask webmasters of surf websites to feature a message on their homepages and in their newsletters. Offline efforts like posting a message in your local surfshop can also help.

For more info, you can also check the British Surfing Association Official Website which leads the movement against BA:
http://www.britsurf.co.uk/Releases/Octo ... 5OCT07.htm

Last but not least, B.A. being part of oneworld - a group of about 10 airlines operating flights together, what will happen if you book on Cathay Pacific and you have a connecting flight operated by BA? Will they leave your boards midway?
This ban has potential consequences for surfers flying intercontinental routes on any of these airlines!

So don't wait to get f*&%ed on the way to your next surf
destination and sign the petition:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/sto ... /sign.html

Thanks for support!
Steve

PS: the whole wave riding community is affected (windsurfers, surfskiiers, etc):
