Kiteboarding Progression : Beginner is the latest release from Fatsand productions, the same team that released the Kiteboarding Progression : Intermediate DVD.
The DVD is aimed at the beginner and covers everything from unpacking your kite, setting your kite up, to doing your very first jump – where it ends.
Progression : Beginner covers the following chapters in complete detail :
Location and Conditions
Equipment and Terminology
Kite Setup
Launching and Landing
Kite Flying
Body Dragging
Re-launch and Self Rescue
Every chapter is covered in a lot of detail, Fatsand style. The beginning of each chapter provides you with a complete overview of the maneuver you are about to attempt so that by the time you attempt the maneuver you will have a visual overview of the maneuver backed by all the theory behind it.
Each maneuver is repeated with different angles while the commentator highlights important aspects. You even get to see what the kite should be doing through certain maneuvers with the help of multiple camera angles. At the end of each maneuver there is also a troubleshooting section outlining common mistakes and how to avoid them.
The backround music was not very different to that of Kiteboarding Progression : Intermediate, with a lot of the same songs featuring on the Beginner DVD.
We found that the soundtrack lacked in variety. With the beginner DVD being considerably longer than the Intermediate DVD, we found that the lack of variety was emphasized throughout the DVD as the same background music were often used throughout the chapters.
That being said, the background music complimented the commentary on the DVD and added to a very relaxed ambience. All in all good choice of music, just need more variety.
With each chapter being covered with excellent attention to detail, lots of theory, commendatory and repeat-exercises, it is rather difficult to watch more than a few chapters in one go before loosing interest.
Although the DVD is not meant to watch from beginning to end, we felt that the individual chapters were simply too long and boring to keep the audience nailed to the screen. The mellow soundtrack and continuous tone of voice of the commentator coupled with rather long chapters contributes to this.
Progression : Beginner is an all-you-need-to-know reference about getting started. The riders (Laurel Eastman, Eric Beaudonnat and Rob Claisse) break each section down into all the possible dimensions one needs to be made aware of when starting out. The script is written and supported by instructors who are qualified by the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation).
Progression : Beginner is based on the IKO syllabus, and endorsed by the IKO. This DVD will help you build a solid foundation and help you in whatever you are going to learn further on in kiteboarding.
Slow motion and repeat scenes are common throughout the DVD, assisting you in visualizing and remembering what to do.

6. The Complete Kiteboarding Guide-Kite Film
This new film teaches you everything from setting up your (Naish) equipment till the most advanced tricks performed today. Double world champion is Mark Shinn is guiding you all the way.
This film contains 2 and 1/2 hours of instruction, 1 hour of interviews and 30mins of Bonus Footage.
It also graphically demonstates that if you fly your kite downwind of a bathing house (you know, one of those 7ft boxes), you will get lofted 30 metres in the air, and come down crashing on your head!
Produced by Naish Kiteboarding, and Kitefilm.com, this 4hour DVD is sure to provide some entertainment and solid advice, but remember that it is no substitute for professional lessons.
7. Kiteboarding 101
Tronolone Production's (Unhooked, Awake) first in a series of instructional kite videos does a great job at filling an instructional void at the intermediate level. Both the VHS and DVD have the unique and innovative options of being able to view either a full-screen version with the kite tricks front and center during the voiceover, or a split screen view with the host's instruction on the left, the action being completed on the right, and text below describing the scene. Definitely a maximum absorption value.
What really makes this video is the professional and technical insight from host Shannon Best. His extensive background in wakeboarding, and understanding of the mechanics of kiteboarding allows him to share some tips that you'll find nowhere else. He pays particular attention to hand and body positions that will definitley help you with all aspects of kiteboarding, and other sports as well.
The video is divided into three sections:
Section 1:
•Body Position
- Heel-side
- Unhooked
- Toe-side
- Switch
• Kite Postion
• Hand Position
Section 2:
• Load and Pop
• 180s
• Jumping
•Jumping without the Kite
Section 3:
• Back Rolls
• Toe-side Bakc Rolls
• Rolls to Revert
- Heel-side
- Toe-side
• Jibe and Air Jibe
8. Boosting: The Next Level
This intermediate/advanced instructional picks up where Boost II leaves off. It assumes that you have learned all the safety and basics and are ready to move on. From basic to advanced wakeboard tricks to high-end twin-tip moves and everything in between, this video targets all kiteboarders who want to push their limits. The Next Level is divided into a wakeboard style section and a twintip section, with smaller sections on things like waveriding, oilboards, surfboards, and anything else that can be done with a kite. The wakeboard section follows a very logical progression from less diffi cult jumps to more difficult to downright insane stuff. Adam Koch hosts the twintip section and moves from kite control to almost anything he can make up. 107 minutes of just about everything.
DĖMESIO!!! Jokios video pamokos neišmokys visų šio sporto niuansų, ypač pradedančiųjų. Primygtinai rekomenduoju kreiptis į profesionalius mokytojus jeigu nusprendėte išbandyti šį sportą
