This weekend, 2011 February 12-13, Open Lithuanian Snowkiting championship “Snow Kite Grand Prix 2011” will take place in Trakai. Galves lake – near Trakai Castle.
At the same time and same location - Paragliding Accuracy World Cup will take place (More info http://www.orosvente.lt/cms/index.php?page=about)
It is second stage of – “Snow Kite Grand Prix 2011”. A preliminary final, third stage of the championship will be held shortly in Neringa.
Snowkiters compete using snowboards or skis, both using power kites. The participants will meet in these disciplines.
1. Cource Race.
2. Free-style - snowkiting with aerial acrobatics.
3. Jibbing – snowkiting using using the track objects
4. Speed - 250 or 500 meters over the track section,
5. Kite Boarder Cross
6. Marathon - a long endurance race.
It is planned to start with Cource race and Freestyle as major disciplines.

"Trakai will guest truly unique event. We look forward to a strong wind, which will allow the athletes to reveal all their abilities. It is unique place with nice sightseeing, air-show, city fiest and our event will attract huge crowds of spectators. Audience will have a unique opportunity to observe tricks and race events at close proximity. We expect big attention in freestyle and jibbing disciplines, where kiters are performing aerial jumps with acrobatics” says organizer E.Silva.

Saturday from 9.00 up to 11.00 hours.

Preliminary event will be held on the outskirts of the estate Užutrakis Galve Lake.
